| So how did all this begin? Well, I guess I have always been interested in artistic endeavors - music, photography, digital art, etc - but only in the last few years have I really started learning about and applying myself towards these interests.
Several years ago I purchased my first digital camera and began photographing everything in sight! I devoured information like I hadn't eaten in days; seeking out how-to's, tutorials, and any form of photography knowledge I could find. Websites, magazines, books; you name it. Soon after I quickly outgrew my equipment and moved into SLR territory. That's when everything changed...
With the purchase of a Canon 20D and a couple of lenses I had to relearn just about everything, and was there ever a lot to learn! Over the next few years I captured thousands of images of anything from people to pets, cars, wild animals, flowers, landscapes, buildings - just about anything that I felt could be looked at artistically; which is just about everything.
At the same time all of this is happening I started learning more about image processing in Adobe Photoshop. I had used this software for many years to create digital art, do photo manipulations, web graphics, etc, but this required an entirely different set of skills. I began learning all the little tips and tricks for touching up photos, adjusting the skin tones, lighting, curves, and color matching for print.
Applying all of these skills together I am able to create some extremely beautiful artwork. Even this site has been years in the making - I would start design work, then get busy and never finish. Start again, stop again. Years later I have finally forced myself to create something to at least make my artwork available to others. This comes partly due to taking the next step - semi-professional.
Up until this point I have only created artwork for personal use, and had never sold anything to someone I didn't know. This is the next step. Some time ago I had an idea; the idea was to create a website where artists can display, sell, and talk about their work with others in the community. I had every facet of this idea fleshed out on paper and never seemed to find neither the time nor the talent to make it a reality. And so as luck would have it a website called SmugMug was created - surprisingly they have captured just about every feature I had envisioned. Their site is user friendly, well designed, and serves it's purpose perfectly.
Now that I have a fair amount of experience, decent equipment, software, desire, drive, and a place to display and sell my work I think I am just about ready to go! It has been a long time in the making, but I sincerely hope you enjoy your visit to my site and find my work as exciting as I do.
This is a very exciting and never ending journey. There is more to learn than will ever be possible; as it is in life. A special thanks to all of my wonderful friends for the support and the opportunities they have provided me.
May you see as I see, May you feel as I feel.
